MEET THE ARTIST

Erin Sachiko Nakamura

I am a recent graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Biology. I have been needle felting since 2014 when my high school art teacher brought in a felter to teach us. From that moment I became fascinated with the art and couldn't put it down! I take inspiration from my background in biology, interest in anime and video games, and involvement in the LGBTQ+ community. My mascot, Felty the flying fox, was born from my love of both bats and foxes. They were designed by the fabulous Jay. You can find their art on instagram @magpie_munchie.
